  1. Pakistani contingent comprising two infantry battalions remained part of UN Protection Force (UNPROFOR) from 1992-95 and UN Mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina (UNMIBH) from 1995-2002. Bosnia has been one of the success stories of Pakistan's peacekeeping. Pakistani peacekeepers secured the "unsafe area" of Tuzla and its ethnically mixed civilian population against onslaughts of ethnic-cleansing militias and saved many civilian lives. They also completed rehabilitation and development projects.
  2. In Eastern Slovenia, Pakistan contingent comprising an infantry battalion, armour squadron, artillery battery, engineer platoon, logistics company and communication unit served as part of UN Transitional Adm for Eastern Slavonia, Baranja-and Western Sirmium (UNTEAS) from 1996-97.They conducted humanitarian support activities besides improving law and order situation to bring back stability and normalcy. Pakistani peacekeepers were much appreciated for their service to humanity and efforts for peace.
